About the Charities
Baltimore Safe Haven
"Baltimore Safe Haven is committed to empowering TLGBQIA+ individuals in Baltimore City who are navigating survival modes by providing inclusive and supportive spaces, resources, and opportunities. Our mission is to foster an environment where every member of the TLGBQIA+ community not only survives but thrives, promoting resilience, dignity, and inclusivity as we collectively work towards a more compassionate and equitable Baltimore."
Beats Not Bullets
"Dream Bigger Community Institute's Beats Not Bullets program aims to increase middle & high school age students' knowledge of the sound engineering and the recording industry. Participants will graduate with improved awareness, attitude, and practice of using instruments, computer software, and audio equipment to create music and audio production."
Casey Cares
"Our mission is to help lift the spirits of children and families affected by critical or terminal illnesses. We have several programs in place that help with the day to day experiences such as pajamas for hospital stays and treatment, movie and dinner nights for kids and families during treatment, and bigger birthday parties, trips to sporting events, or occasional vacations."
Ed Lally Foundation
"Our mission is to inspire and empower individuals, families, and communities to adopt a proactive approach to mental health and suicide prevention through accessible, evidence-based practices of self-healing, stigma-shattering self-expression, and meaningful human connection.
At the heart of the Ed Lally Foundation’s outreach is The Power of Expression — an immersive mental health and suicide prevention program for middle & high school students, colleges, and community audiences — which equips students with proactive mental health tools they can use in everyday life, introduces evidence-based coping strategies, and connects participants to suicide prevention resources and support."
Family Crisis Center of Baltimore County
"The Family Crisis Center is dedicated to interrupting and preventing cycles of violence in relationships. Our mission is to work alongside individuals, families, and communities to create lasting change. As a comprehensive agency specializing in domestic violence, we offer a range of services, including emergency safe sheltering, counseling, children's program, victim advocacy and support groups, rapid rehousing, case management, and programs focused on promoting new, healthier behaviors."
Adopt A Homeless Animal Rescue
"AAHA is dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We have a particular commitment to the Pit Bull, and aim to raise awareness and education about this very misunderstood breed of dog. We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and animal control, advocating for any animal in need."
Patterson Park Public Charter School - Polar Explorers Program
"PPPCS is a small public charter in Baltimore, serving 750 students. One of our most exciting initiatives is the PPPCS Polar Explorers Program, which empowers our middle school students to connect local environmental advocacy in Baltimore with global conservation efforts. Through a year-long curriculum students engage in hands-on STEM learning, culminating in a life-changing expedition to Antarctica aboard the National Geographic Explorer. There, they will collaborate with scientists, conduct research, and document their journey in documentary film premiering at the Maryland Zoo’s Party for the Planet."
